Get answers to common questions about Upper Lip Waxing.
Most clients enjoy smooth results for three to six weeks, depending on hair type and growth cycle. Regular waxing can slow regrowth over time. Touch-ups are recommended every four to six weeks to maintain a hair-free upper lip and consistent results.
Some mild stinging is normal, but sessions are brief. Our estheticians use quick, expert techniques, pre-wax cleansers, and calming post-wax soothing serums to minimize discomfort. We can adjust approach and recommend topical numbing if you have low pain tolerance.
Avoid exfoliating or bleaching the area 48 hours before your appointment. Ensure hair is at least quarter-inch long for effective waxing. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin and inform us of medications or skin sensitivities for safe care.
Most skin types tolerate waxing well, but active sunburn, severe acne, open wounds, recent chemical peels, or certain skin conditions may prevent service. Inform our team of medications like retinoids or recent aesthetic treatments so we can advise or reschedule safely.
Waxing can occasionally cause ingrown hairs. To prevent them, exfoliate gently starting 48 hours after waxing, use non-comedogenic moisturizers, avoid heavy makeup immediately after, and schedule regular waxing. If ingrowns occur, our estheticians can recommend treatments or soothing products.
Wait at least 12 to 24 hours before applying makeup to the waxed area to reduce irritation and infection risk. Use clean, non-comedogenic products and avoid heavy creams for the first day. If sensitivity persists, extend recovery time.
